Dog Tragedy Is Out There… Fight Back & Stick Up For Your Animal…

Help These Puppies!

Help These Puppies!

There are thousands of dogs suffering in puppy mills.  Puppy mills are solely for the greed of the owner and provide little if any real care to their dogs.  Dogs are kept for the purpose of breeding.  They are kept in cages for most of their life.  Females are bred every time they come into heat because a litter of puppies, depending on the bred, can be worth well over a thousand dollars.

These dogs are left outside and suffer through extreme cold and heat and there is no hope of having a better situation.  Once their breeding life is over, the dog has no value to the owners and more often than not is killed, abandoned or if there is some modicum of compassion, taken to a shelter.

Most animal rights activists recommend boycotting pet stores for buying a puppy but this does not help the puppies that the pet stores already have. If you are looking to buy a puppy and you chose to go to a pet store, which is where most of the litters of puppy mills are sold, ask them where the puppies came from.  If you can visit the facility, then by all mean do it. If they cannot answer your questions to your satisfaction then you should consider passing.

Unfortunately, most agencies do not concern themselves with where the puppies come from but how they are treated by the person who is responsible for them.

This is a desperate cycle that needs to be broken but it is difficult to justify not purchasing a puppy from a pet store because you will be providing a loving home.  The real place to start is tracking down these puppy mills and putting the owners out of business because of the abuse the breeding dogs suffer.

These mills are driven by greed and nothing else.

One thing you may consider is to work with or contribute to a dog rescue agency.  These types of agencies look to remove dogs from situations where a dog or dogs are suffering and helping find homes for them.  Another is when you are aware of a puppy mill, report them to the local authorities, including the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
